1. Memorial Chorten
This is one of the tallest monuments in Thimphu, which attracts every people from all over the world for its marvellous architecture. This magnificent divine place gives you a view on Buddhism culture through its beautiful artwork, wall carving and great sculptures.
This ancient monument gives an insight of Buddhist culture and also serves to be a great place to wander and enjoy the beauty of this place.
Timings to visit- Summer: Monday – Friday: 5:30 am – 6:30 pm, Saturday, Sunday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Winter: 8:00 am -5:00 pm

2. Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan
It is a marvellous building in Thimphu, Bhutan. This academy was founded in 2005 to protect and preserve the rich cultural art of weaving textiles. One can see here, young Bhutanese students learning how to weave without giving any fee.
Beautifully woven textiles and clothes are kept on a display which lets people witness the traditions of Bhutan.

3. Zilukha Nunnery
Located at 2 km from the center of the city, Zilukha Nunnery was built about half century ago. This nunnery is also known as Durrthob Goemba. There are about 60 nuns living in that premises. If one wants to refresh and energize their soul, then this place with peaceful surroundings is one of the best. From this site, the mesmerising view of Tashichho Dzong is a perfect picture to click and add in your travel diaries.

4. Royal Botanical Garden
It is situated at the distance of 5 km from the center of the city. It is located on the Punakha road, very near to Dochula Pass. This garden is the first Botanical Garden of Bhutan. One can here spot many tress and saplings planted here along with their important uses. One can find here, vast and useful information on horticulture. This place also has a lively children’s park equipped with many exciting rides and swings. It is rated as one of the most popular picnic spot among the locals, which is always filled by the people enjoying themselves.

5. Kuensel Phodrang
Kuensel Phodrang also known as Buddha Point is located 3 km from the center of the city Thimphu. The grand and magnificent statue of Lord Buddha names Buddha Dordenma is places in the centre of this place. One can also spot several other small statues here and stand in appreciation of the Buddhism religion. Not to forget the amazing view of the Thimphu Valley. This place is regarded as one of the most happening places of the city. The bronze statue of Buddha here is 51.5 meters of height, placed over several chapels. This statue of Buddha was built by Nanjing, Aerosun cooperation of China.
